ever record drums to cassette?
i think this would sound good for something i'm currently working on. can i track and mix the drum tracks on my pc and then send them to cassette and somehow back into the pc? will i get common cassette characteristics like that naturally compressed, phasey sound?

familiar with sunn amps?
I recently picked up a Sunn Concert Bass amp and 15" cab. It sounds awesome, for the money I'm really excited about it. The only concern is the amp is 150w and the cab is 100w. How hard will I have to push the speaker to really blow it? Next question. I want to add another cabinet to the equation an...

splitting bass to DI and amp simultaneously
now that i actually have a decent microphone to record bass with, i'd like to compare it with the DI signal. is there a correct way to go about recording the bass players DI and amp at the same time? a little splitter box perhaps?

Budget ribbon mics...
I'm searching for a budget ribbon mic (or even a pair) to use for roomy drum sounds and to compliment my 57 on guitar cab mic'ing. So far I've looked at the Shinybox with Lundahl upgrade, the Cascade Fat Head II with Lundahl, Beyer M260, and an Apex 205 with Mike Joly's modifications. They are all r...

I might have a pair in a day or so. I just need to verify if the pair I just bought are really happening. If so, I'd need to sell my oktavas. I'll let you know in a few days. Mine are real russians...as best I can tell from looking at the oktava site and speaking to michael joly. I was about to sen...

Looking for Oktava MK012 pair
I'm searching for a pair of Oktava MK012's, hopefully the real Russian ones. I don't care what capsules you have for them.
