If you are in the south bay you HAVE to go to Guitar Showcase. They are in San Jose on Bascom. They've been around since the 60's and have a guitar vault that is worth many millions of dollars. They also have a consignment shop with good prices, and you'll never know what you'll find. r Shhh...Ok F...

I would say get one set and learn those well. Cross reference your mixes with CD's you like on those speakers to get to know them better. Once you have a final mix you are happy with, then take your music and the CD you are referencing to other speakers to see how well they still compare. Also, cons...

If it's Guitars you are looking for, check out Real Guitars at 15 lafayete street. It's hard to find, and junky inside, but they have cool stuff. Also, check out Rocker Guitars at 1350 Howard for nice stuff....There is a Pro Audio place in SF, but I can't think of the name right now..they have high ...

I've got a MIJ squire strat that I've changed the e-lectronicals and put in a Bill Lawrence in the tail. I was using the pick-ups from my 65 mustang in the neck and middle positions until I removed those and put back into the 65 mustang to rebuild it. Plus, I removed the 5 way switch and installed 3...

Bought myself a early 70's Univox Les Paul Copy from the pawn shop for $50. Original case came with it too.

Got some bucks from the 'rents and am thinking about turning it into the "RECORDING THE BEATLES" book.

Plus, got a gift card to guitard center to load up on strings, cables and such...

I'm using a Hafler XL-280 amp to power mine.
It's an older amp so finding one might be a little tough.

I've got the Russian one and was able to test it next to a new model before purchasing. In my case the russian one was better by about 32%.

(Just kidding on the percentage...the Russian model just sounded better through the rig I was using at the store. It had a deeper growl to it.)

That's great! Will we see more Book Of Knots recordings soon? The release date is early march, I think... We are going to play only two or three shows, one in SF, and one in NYC. Hope you can make it to one of them! Did your SF show already happen? I think I remember seeing the name of your band an...
