Any of those capsules fit in the mxl2001?

Would either of the trannies work in the 2001 or 603 Royer mods?

Yaaay! Shit's addictive right? Dude, these look awesome. We'll have to get together again soon. I'd love to here 'em in action. I've got a 1/2 done baby animal, and some fetboy PCBs on the desk right now (nite eqs too). I think I'm gonna try some Tamuras on the outs of the BA too. We'll see. We defi...

Anyone try any other capsules in the royer mod? Peluso maybe?

Some A/B clips with the stock capsule would be pretty sweet.

Thanks

Question about DIY tuning a 200a.

It's definitely a PITA, but I've been doing it with some success. I'm lucky enough to have a tech within 30 minutes of me that's certified by Hammond and Wurlitzer. He's in his 70's and has been doing this for a LONG time. He was nice enough to let me sit with him and learn last time he went through...

Although it might not fit the song in question, here's something I've done with a Rhodes (and Wurli as well). DI with a good amount of compression (fast release time) split off to an amp. Mic the amp off to the side of the cone a bit and not too close. EQ so that most of your low end is coming from ...

Definitely brushes up close. Sounds like a fairly muffled kick and the toms at the end too. One thing to remember is that when you're micing the drums up for that kind of sound that it can be a little more dead than you think. The way the the bass and acoustic interact with the drums on that song is...

Look for a pair of Dynaco, Advent, Acoustic Research, some JBL, etc. Any of those would pair well with your Marantz. +1 I've got Dynaco A25s, Advent loudspeakers, AR tsw210s and a Marantz receiver (forgot the model). I'd rather monitor on any of those (and have plenty of times) than the low-end KRK...

Isn't the sm57 the sm57 of microphones?

I love a 414 in omni as a room mic for drums. I like to put it near a corner away from the drums and smash it (with a compressor not a hammer).

I've used both and like them both alot. In my experience, when the u195 hits, it's awesome. It's a great room mic everytime. On the right voice, instrument, or amp, it can be pretty bad ass. The 4033 is great on kick, most bass/guitar cabs and acoustic instruments. I never really liked it on lead vo...

It's so easy to sit around and do nothing because you don't think it's worth diving in until you have a certain peice of gear. That time could have been s...
