Hey lets not forget about Slim Whitmans "Indian Love Call" in the movie Mars Attacks. It made the martians heads explode.

Ack! Ack!

Banshees scream, not hum. Ask any Irishman.

I have said for the last 20 years that the Arizona Cardinals suck because Sun Devil stadium is an ancient Hohokam burial site.

Re: The 20 Year Rule

20 years for technology, especially this day in age is a long long time. As technology gets more advanced it also changes faster..the LP record was used for like 70 years. the CD has only been out around 14 and it will/is slowly be replaced in the next few..thats kindof scary actually, the cd is al...

Re: Black Lion Site it back up and running

LifeInTime, I haven't read anything about your Bellari RP-220 mods yet, but I have a great suggestion to all! I read a review long ago saying one of the few things that bothered the reviewer about this unit was that the red "power" LED indicator was positioned directly after the right chanel LED me...

I don't have any secret stuff yet, but when I do get some, I'm not going to tell anyone about it until I own all of them.

Re: Pacific Pro Audio Ribbon Group Buy Instructions

So, the first thing to do to is mod the grille?

What Michael says certainly makes scientific sense. I wonder how much the grille design contributes to the famous "Neumann Hump" on a U87.

Maybe it's time for a seperate thread.

Re: Black Lion Site it back up and running

Yeah, I was able to get in last week. It convinced me to try the Bellari RP503 mod. They were going for $140 + $20.00 shipping on ebay, so I got a new one from Wife's Enemy for $199, free shipping. So far I have the opamps swapped out, and while I'm waiting for the Telefunken 12AU7 to come in the m...

Black Lion Site it back up and running

This is good news. I think I'll get a couple ebay 3630's now.

For what it's worth....

I pullled the 12AX7's out of my Bellari and showed them to my 19 year old son. He had no clue what they were...

Shit!!!! Well it was up and running ast night anyway.

I'm still with the HRM-2, but I believe the word you want here is "Aye", not "I". Aye = Yes (as in "Aye, Aye Capitan"). And while we're on it, it's "Hear, hear", not "Here, here". Just a little pet peeve of mine. :D Hear, hear Capitan!!! Yes I am a pirate Two hundred years too late The cannons don'...

Re: commercials are loud.

Put a limiter on your tv. Anyone here currently putting one to use in this fashion (what make/model?) or am I going to have to UTFSF? MT The movie Jackie Brown has really loud music and much quieter talking, so I ran an RNC between the VCR and the TV and it was AOK - any unbalanced compressor/limit...

Re: Anatomy of a live concert recording session

I was fascinated. More! More! I've noticed too--there is this "ultimate benchmark of a sound" for this kind of live thing, and it all boils down to the records we heard as kids. A sweet hall, a dignified air, soaring, sweeping, all you need is a few clicks and pops and you're there. When we weree j...

Re: going legit to pay taxes. can I just set up as a freelan

I have a separate checking account for the business, in case there's some legal trouble. No offense, but I don't believe a DBA will protect your personal assets from being pulled into a legal issue. Unless you're incorporated, you're wide open. Someone straighten me out if I'm wrong. And secondly, ...

i'm doing my main taxes through turbo tax, i don't know if there's something i can just tack in there? You can deduct a percentage of all of your utility bills, your mileage to the local music store, and a whole bunch of misc stuff. An ex-IRS agent has done my taxes for the last several years. She ...

Re: cpu recording question!

You could stack three Aardvark Q10's for about $1500. I just picked up one on ebay for less than $500. Assuming that you have 3 PCI slots available. Each unit has 8 channels.

I will be setting up the second unit in the same computer when it arrives. Should be interesting.
