Then I'll try this- help me out and tell me if it makes sense: I think I want a non-normalled patchbay because I don't mind re-routing the cables since I never run more than 14 or 15 simultaneous tracks. Also it is bad to split the signal yeah? Or is normalled better, where it is set up to have a ty...

Patchbays: Normal, Halfnormalled, TT etc. (?)
There is another patchbay conversation going on, but it kind of left me behind. I am looking into easing wiring difficulty in my studio. Can someone help me with the lingo and the science? Normalled means that it is set for unbalanced signals? What does TT stand for in reference to patchbays? I thin...

well, "dubious condition off ebay" is how I got this one, and it didn't last long before I noticed the (you said it best) telephony quality to it. If I get another one it'll be new, but I'm hoping this is salvageable. Reading around the internet, people seem to think relatively highly of EV's repai...

That's tough. It definitely sounds thinner than normal. An re20 should roll of some of the proximity effect that is apparent in the 421, but I don't think that is right it's a little too telephony. You could send it in, but I hear EV charges a couple hundo for repairs. Such a great mic though, and y...

Anybody recommend a different fabric than burlap? My wife is having issues with that. From what I've read most every one says burlap, but maybe there is something slightly more attractive to the woman eye. You can get burlap in multiple colors. The fabric store by my house has it in off white, oliv...

Another thing you can do for more isolation is to cut sheets of drywall into 16" strips (or however wide your ceiling joists are), and install them at the top of each space between the joists, touching the floor board above, and holding them in place with small cleats. Rod talks about this in his b...
