Check out the fist song on my myspace page Hope
The distorted sound is in their all the way through but about 3:00 mins in there is a break and just the distorted track and a room mic. I used a sans amp and this old hi-z mic I have.

Hey trodden your studio furniture is beautiful!! its that really just stud grad 2x4. And i think you can call yourself a carpenter after building those! I built about a 16 spacer. It was really easy, with the right tools, table saw, router, good glue, senco brad nailer. Had a friend with small speak...

I think you should go with another 8 ch mic pre like the presounous or the mackie. Mostly because I would like to hear those compared to the 896HD. I compared the 896's pres to the mackie pres in the 8 bus console (vlz?) and the mackies were way nicer, fuller lows. The motu's were bright and brittle...

You could use the adat lightpipe from the mx2424 into the digi 002. The digi 002 rack has spidf and light pipe for digital sources. I just noticed also that the phantom switches are on the back, thats lame! Using the adat in only gets you 8 more channels of input. I experienced a lot of issues using...

There is a company in the hi-fi audio field called Panamax They make really good stuff. I worked at a hi-fi shop for a while and saw there demo. The sales guy was a SALES guy but they toasted a monster power conditioner with this "lightning generator" that didnt do a thing to the panamax. Check em o...

Ive seen a regular old lapel mic cliped onto an acoustic guitar with the clip you woud use to attach it to your tie or collar. Sounded terrible, very boomy, tons of extraineous low end. I would be pretty sweet, in a live situation, to have two outputs for your acoustic. I would put in under the brid...

I just went through this a few weeks ago. I went to Circuit City, Best Buy, Target, the mac life, and some other places. I setteled on the JBL CreatureII speakers. Its a 2.1 system with really small satilies and a sub. These are pretty harsh and brittle. I also liked the bose speakers that were just...

Wow that is pretty close to a million questions (in one post). Many recording consoles have lots of different in's and out's. You can use any kind of output you want to go to a recording device. Most large format analog consoles use tape outs, also called multitrack sends, or direct outs for recordi...

I had a guitar painted with car paint. Looks awsome. Its one of those two color things that changes with the reflections of light, its goes green to purple, but at extreem angles it also lookes different colors. Did not adversly affect the tone of the guitar. The paint is super thick though, it fill...
