Some private equity firms have been known to "optimize" the company - usually meaning they make huge cuts in order to squeeze every bit of profit out that they can before they sell it off again. If that happens, then I wouldn't look for much new from avid in the way of releases, patches, ...

Given that they're having a crazy "we finally have chip suppliers again" sale at Metric Halo, I grabbed an LIO-8 mkIV to round out my I/O system. Getting pretty common these days. I've even sent ClearCom old-style Partyline comms over a spare Cat5. At work we have lots of rugged Ethercon cables and snakes since everything is going Dante.

I have a pair of custom molded IEM earbuds, great on planes.

How about a woodshop / gun range headset over a pair of regular earbuds, though? You definitely need to some bulk attenuation, airplanes are like 80-90dB broadband noise.

Another '70s Matsumoku bass--this one an Epiphone ET-285, defretted & refinished in a lovely purple. The very ugly LP copy is a kit guitar. The one pickup is a Burstbucker Pro, & the guitar plays surprisingly nicely. It was cheap, & I find the ugliness appealing. That LP copy is fucking PERFECT!!! ...
