Re: okay, so i've got another photo nerd question...

I think that if you want high speeds, high color saturation and no computer manipulation, I think push processing is the way to go. Usually high speed film don't have saturated colors. Or get some slide film and cross process it. That is, get the film processed in negative film chemistry. That'll gi...

Re: over/underexposing film speeds

I think it's just not as simple as you make it out to be. What kind of light meter are you using? If it's in the camera then you have to point it at something and take the reading. Whatever you point it at the meter will read that and tell you what setting to make that a middle grey. If that object ...

Re: pushing/pulling film speeds

That really sad about wolf giving you digital prints. Printing negative films is half of the game, just ask Ansel Adams, and yeah I know that kind of different but whatever. Seriously though, correcting prints for color and density is fair game. Prints from moderately to severely under/over exposed ...

Re: pushing/pulling film speeds

push/pull processing refers to how long the film is developed. Pushing film will typically make film have more contrast and bigger grain size. There are films out now that can be pushed a few stops (every stop doubles or halves the film speed) and are not supposed to be look any different. "the reas...

Re: The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou was...

The movie is good.
I liked the part when Zissou is talking about how they put "rabbit ears" on the diving helmets so they could listen to music and all, music plays and Bill Murray shakes his money maker a bit. Funny, haha.

Re: Goodwill coveting

I really like to go around and look for random stuff at flee markets, thrift stores, garage sales and what not. I have found some good stuff but there are those who take it a step further and ruin it for the rest of us. My case in point: I ran into an old friend that had a sizable record collection ...

Re: what companies do you buy from? buy blue.

since nothing is made in america anymore, they should just start relabeling products to reflect being "made by blue" / "made by red". Umm, take a look over at Martin Guitars . But yeah, most everything else is made somewhere else. And People, for the love of God, please don't shop at Wal-Mart. I kn...
