Re: Does anyone have a studio out in the country
I am in Lincoln as well, living down in the North Bottoms. I myself have a small studio in my basement and recently just came upon a major find in terms of old microphones. I know I cannot compete with Presto but I too am shooting for smaller indie bands and the university kids who are in bands. It'...

Re: Does anyone have a studio out in the country
That's kind of like Presto Studios here in Lincoln. They're in a city not really known for it's music and the studio itself is beautiful. They attract clients from all over the US and since Lincoln is such a pleasant and quiet city it's almost like the country. There's a studio I know that's a few m...

I am very happy with my Furman. My advice would be stay away from Behringer. They tend to have signal bleed and wow, that's a bummer.

Re: Found a bunch of old rca microphones. What is uniaxial?
Thank you guys very much for the words of wisdom. After I sort this all out I will decide if I want to sell them or not. No, I did not haggle, and the lady at the church, (small baptist church) did not even know if they worked. She actually offered her husbands services to drive them to my house bec...

Found a bunch of old rca microphones. What is uniaxial?
Hi everyone. I recently stumbled upon a bunch of old microphones at a garage sale and bought every last one for $15 (about 20 in all). I'm doing research on them to find out what exactly they are. They're all in decent shape and most work. Also in the box were some old Shures, Western Electrics, and...

Re: "that's... crazy!" - utter BS claims by GC ass
Certainly, I agree. BUt the weird thing I ask is...How can you not love a job working with the things you obsess about? I love everything about music and recording it. I'm working hard with recording equiptment and going to school so I can build a studio. What are the people at GC working for? I jus...

Re: "that's... crazy!" - utter BS claims by GC ass
Okay, I work at a 'mom and pop' pro audio, lighting, and recording store in the midwest. This is my dream job. All day long I sit around and work with customers who want to buy the things I want to buy. Sure, I may be a 21 year old kid, but I have read the books, done the research, and interned at t...

Re: Clearchannel drops Stern
Sorry, i know nobody was advocating shutting down radio. I was more or less speaking in response to the satellite radio trend and the hope that satellite will put public held airwaves out of buisness. I hope this never happens because the the overwhelming few companies that will control satellite wi...

Re: Clearchannel drops Stern
Please don't advocate public radio being shut down. Some of us listen to (and need our airplay on) college radio stations, which because of the FCC and the poorly worded Digital Millenium Copyright Act has been shutting down college stations web streams. College radio is some of the best music aroun...

Re: Bunch of lo fi studio stuff for sale
i'd be interested in the c1000s. I only get paid on friday so it'd be hard for me to pay right away, but if it's still there, i'll see what money i can scrounge up.

Question regarding electrical interference
Hey everyone, I have been reading the posts here for the last few months and saw the negative comments regarding people who do not read the archives - so I scoured the archives looking for an answer to this question, alas it was not found, so here we go. (I'm an english major at the university here,...
