I got a call from a friend about live multitrack recording a high profile show in a small club. It didn't pay much, but when opportunities present themselves that seem like they could open new doors, I generally will pursue it. I rolled down to the club with a 24-track and a rack of mic pres, and ca...

I have also been servicing 4038's for the last couple years, using parts purchased from Coles.

Reribbon runs $160, and turn time is normally within a week.

Drop me a line if interested.

I'm in the boat with Lenny.

I'm firing my marketing department. What I really need is a picture of her fondling my microphone :D

Congrats on the sale, glad that it sold relatively quick.

I picked up this STC 4033 from the UK a couple months ago. Reworked the bottom connector, made a stand for it. Although there is fair amount of tramp metal on the magnets in and around the ribbon, I'm reluctant to clean it out and put a new ribbon in it, as the mic sounds really funky. File this und...

I've been living in mono for about a week now (this is a better experience than the last time I lived in mono for more than a week, with a burst ear drum, but that's a different story). I've a pair of LA3A's from a friend in for repair, one of which makes noise at random. This pair has gone back and...

What I've been doing when the need for a DAW comes into play is tracking everything into the Radar, and then exporting the project to a usb 2 drive as wav files, plugging that into a mac, copy files across to the mac, and mixing in DAW of choice (Logic/Protools).

Are you looking for real time?

I fly with microphones and electronics a fair bit (imagine that). Here's my tips for a smooth flight: I have a pelican case that everything is packed in. If it all possible, take the stuff in a carry on. If you check it, it's likely to be looked through, and they will not repack it with the care tha...
