Los Angeles-Vintage Fender Bassman

Early 70's Silverface Bassman 50

also a vintage ampeg 2x12 cab with new 25w greenbacks.

$550 for both, and I'll throw in a Marshall Bluesbreaker pedal which is great with this setup.

Recording, mixing, and Mastering for Vinyl

We're recording a 7 inch ourselves and we'll be sending it straight to the pressing plant. Anyone have any advice or tips?

I just started renting a house that's near an Airport. All the houses in the neighborhood have been retro-fitted for noise. All windows are beefed up, solid oak doors, roof sealed, etc. I'm going to turn my living room into a demo studio/practice space. There is only one wall of the room that faces ...

Soundproofing

My band is planning on "soundproofing" the living room in the house we're moving into. It will serve as our practice space and as our home studio's main room. Our biggest concern is keeping sound from leaving the house. There are 2 walls that face the outside and 3 doors in the room. One of the door...

Rob Cavallo comes to mind. I think all the Green Day albums sound like he a let a lot of things go. They're commercial sounding recordings, and all flawless takes, but it sounds like if the band said "nah i don't think we should do that here" he said "ok". I think that's cool. Mr. Brett, cause i lov...

Powered PA Speakers

I'm looking to buy a pair of powered PA speakers to use at practice with my band and also to crank mixes through in big rooms for reverb in recordings. Anyone have any experience with the Samson db500a's? They're 500w a speaker and 500 bucks each. Did a little research and they seem to be a great de...

That whole record is amazing. Even the JCM 900, which sounds great. I remember hearing that Zach sang into a hand-held 58, and a lot of it was done live at their practice space. Not sure about the bass, but I'd love to know.

Please Help! Editing Dialogue

The guy I share an office with is editing a story on Final Cut. There's a section of an interview that he used a shotgun mic on and it's got a ton of echo. I want to try and help him out, as I have Pro-Tools right here. Are there any tricks to de-echoing something? Thanks for your help.

pickup fell off my bass

i was changing my strings today, i have one of those pbass reissues, the sting one, and the pickup was just all of a sudden not on my bass anymore. I have no idea how it happened but the pickup was ruined. But it was a blessing cause I was about to record a whole record with it, and I replaced it wi...
