Re: Music Man!
This is interesting because I have had two 130hd combos that have both died via transformer failure in the past year. Great tone, though. I always just used an a/b for channel switching, although i try to set mine right so that playing harder will give me enough overdrive.

Re: Snare Mic???
What's the bottom mic all about? how do you guys usually position that? I've tried it aimed straight up or more or less the inverse angle of the top mic, and then with the phase flipped. I've usually had it pretty close to the snares. I got a high, crackky sound...not a meaty sound....am I doing so...

Re: CDR to send to mastering lab?
This is definitely off-topic, but I read that article in the link you sent, and now I'm a little concerned that I might have been performing an inappropriate procedure. I record to Nuendo at 96khz/32floatingpoint and then export as 96khz/24bit for mastering (usually my own digital "mastering" via wa...

Re: Beyer M201 question
do you have the nc or tg version? I have the NC and it does take a substantial amount of gain - but it definitely does not sound thin at all.

Re: non drum sounding drum samples online?
Yeah, I'm a senior at IC. I took two years off before going to college and during those two years I got into recording. I have to say that I'm guilty of the bad driving thing. I hit a deer on 96B last year that demolished my oldsmobile. Thanks for those links. I've sequenced music for years but alwa...

non drum sounding drum samples online?
Hola, I did a search for this topic and came up with not much directly pertaining to what I need. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good library online that has drum samples - only here's the catch: I don't really want samples that sound like a snare drum. I'd like just other percussive sounds that...

Re: Software/gear to play back loops live
right now the only portable computer (i.e. laptop) i have is a g4 macintosh. desktops are both pcs. so i guess i'd be looking for something on either platform. perhaps a good pc program will motivate me to get a pc laptop, or not... any suggestions on either front will be appreciated.

Software/gear to play back loops live
Hi, I'm trying to find software to play loops back as part of a live performance. The loops are critical elements of the song and we have to keep time to them. Also, they need to be stopped/started at spots. Can anyone recommend anything? I'm probably looking for a software solution more than anythi...

Re: Joe Meek trouble/good equip. repair places in PA/NJ area
Thank you everyone!
I did try the meek through a console with similar problems. The strange thing is that this only happens when you use the line input. Using it as a mic pre even with the compressor on, it functions fine.

Joe Meek trouble/good equip. repair places in PA/NJ area?
Hi, I've been running Nuendo 1.6 through a MOTU 24i/o. I've been having some weird problems with a joe meek vc1 when i try to run a track out of the MOTU and through the Meek's compressor and back down to the computer. The signal comes through very weak. If I turn the Meek on and off a few times (po...
