Re: Today's Tape-Op Affirmation

Wow, the ol' Doctor... Haven't heard his show in a king's age. Ahhh...good times. Where & when might one catch the Dr. Demento Show these days? I'm in L.A., & I've been unaware of the Dr.'s broadcast outlet in this area for a long, long time. Which seems a shame...since he made his demented name her...

I was gonna say the same thing, but I thought I might get laughed at.

Re: Sharpies

Thanks for the info, I figured it was something like that. I used some memorex discs, that had the white coat on top, for awhile, but then I read a bunch of stuff about how bad/unreliable memorex discs were. I got scared...like a little girl. I've just been using Maxells from the corner Tower...

Sharpies

So I was flipping through an old issue of TapeOp, & I read something where Larry said NOT to use a Sharpie to label cd's. :?

Anybody know why not?

I actually use Sharpies all the time & I haven't had any problems...yet.

Am I just lucky?

Curious...

Thanks.

Re: How much gear did they use to make records in the 60's?

As far as outboard pres go, I've always been under the impression that the highly coveted vintage pres of today were just the modules ripped out of the boards of yesteryear.
