Anyone looking to make music in baltimore?

I dont have anything to mix down to. So I was thinking about picking up the Edirol A/D USB adapter that runs around 75$ for my laptop. I can just run the stereo out from my board to the computer and record stereo. Is this a good idea? Anyone else do this?

The only thing I don't really like is the snare. I think a deeper snare would sound better. It sounds too poppy to me. But it does stand out in the mix. I think its a good job though.

What's your favorite overhead mic and setup? I don't really have one yet. But, as of now I use a Samson LD all over the place. I'm just looking to see how others do it.
