Re: Good Sounding Portable Recorder
I believe most of these devices have 1/8 inputs, some come with their own internal or external mic and I've seen little (LITLE) stereo mics available... I really don't know much more but these seem to be the options.

Re: Good Sounding Portable Recorder
I've heard MiniDisc recorders are good for this, but others say DAT, while others say no to DAT, and then there is always flash memory, those little portable recorders (I want one bad)...

Now the bass/beat I came up with sucks. This is what I hate about music it takes 1000000000 tries before you get something decent.

I'd rather there was a choice of forum colors/skins. I mean, there *is* but they're all yellow.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the read. I'm not sure who's next, I'm probably going to do a couple articles. But I'd advise to check out the other interviews!
I used Photoshop for the graphics and coded the site myself. Thanks!

So when do you feel comfortable calling yourself a _________
- musician? - producer? - mastering engineer? etc. How do you know when you've made it in one or more of those areas? I'm just generally curious of your experiences with that. I'd like to state when I'm done with my album that I produced it, but I'd be very hesitant to say "I am a producer" - hell "...

Re: What did you work on today? 11/11/04
I just came up with a workable nice beat and bass that needs some refining, but it's there. I'm anxious to work on this, but I have a bit of a stomach ache right now. I probably just need something to eat, and a couple Smirnoff Ice's from last night are probably the cause.

Bob Katz interview @ written.
Is this the right section to post this? I do interviews usually via email, with people in various industries - whether well-known or unknown, and the latest is with Bob. Hope the readers get something from this, I do it for no other reason than to give back and learn myself. Enjoy! http://written.ph...

Re: Ear's ringin?
I don't think I do, but I do notice a high freq. ringing when things are silent, it's not a distracting level of ringing, but it's there. I should get 'em checked anyway.

Jerome Dillon's "nearLY" - (ex-NIN tour-drummer)
www.nearly.net
If you're not familiar with the name, he was the touring drummer with Nine Inch Nails for The Fragile tours. I think his "nearLY" project is almost done, it sounds really interesting.. the clips in the site nav are mysterious but really intriguing. I wish there was more info though...

Re: studio colors..Your walls not your sounds
I don't really have much of a room for even a home "studio" (I'm in the basement), but when I move out I'd like to paint the music room maroon... and hang some sheets along each wall in a loose, fashionable way - bunched up... I think our living and recreation space, even work space... it's importan...

Re: The Thread About Plug-Ins
I want a free AU metering plugin that looks like a vintage VU. (Logic 6, Mac OS X). I see PSP has one, but it's VST - and I saw an AU wrapper for VST plugins, but thats $100.
