The meaning behind your band/name
Sorry if this has been posted before, but the search function is seriously missing a "search topic titles only" option... Anyway, whats the meaning behind your band or project name? I'm trying to come up with something for a secondary project I have in mind to work on that is different from The Carb...

Re: How many crappy albums have you bought?
Just a few. Mostly, I liked them initially but then lost interest severely. These albums would be Taproot's "Welcome", Incubus' album with "Pardon Me", Boiler Room's "Can't Breathe", Korn's "Life Is Peachy", Deftones album with "My Summer".... so mostly throwaway rock. Some of the band's music I do ...

Haven't used them, but I'm considering aside from Discmakers... their ad is in the back of Tape Op:

An accomplished, presumably irreversible deed or fact.
I started using it for my webdesign services and just use 'phait' for my name everywhere else pretty much.

DVD project idea - interest poll
I was having a friend listen to some of my current album work and he had an idea to do a DVD that is just music and video... kind of like a big music video, but as I started really liking this idea, I'm thinking it would be broken into chapters. It would be a moderate undertaking and an ambitious pr...

Re: PC laptop recording
Checkout whatever DAW free or limited versions are out there, and whichever you're most comfortable with, go with it. As far as what laptop to get, there's many choices, but my advice is if you can find something with a metal body and widescreen, check it out. Also some freeware/shareware apps that ...

Re: The New Mackie Onyx - well, they look cool...
I think Mackie's stuff is too darkly colored and most often too much grey, it's an eyesore in my opinion, and I'd prefer to mix on something I don't mind looking at.

Re: what do you guys think of firefox?
Firefox integrates RSS feeds. That rules. But here's my favorite thing I've found. When I come home from work, I check 5 websites everyday (this being one of them). So I made a folder in my Personal Bookmarks Folder with all those links. Then, in the browser window, I click the folder and hit "Open...

It's great, I set it up on any PC's I'm fixing and let the user know why they should use Firefox over IE, or at least something NOT IE.

While I appreciate the design direction they went in, I think it's ugly. It's like an SUV-wagon... Suvagon! A WUV! Checkout my wuv.

Oh sure why not
Here's some previews from my upcoming first not-quite-music-but-almost-there-it's-like-soundtrack-stuff album. Or just "my first album". There's a clip of a track I feel finished with but that might change, just click the image: http://www.thecarbonflaw.com/dm/ (original is 04:22) And then there's h...
