Don't forget the concept of subtractive EQ. Additive EQ makes for a congressional scale mess. Indeed. This is where I would start, actually. Chop out ALL the lows, starting at like 20hZ and then creeeeeeeeeping upwards until you feel like it starts to alter the sound of the guitar in a way you don'...

So channel # and voice number are 2 different things? For ex. he said to use voice number 88 for leads. When he says use voice #88, is voice # 88 usually programed in keyboards to have a similar sound (ie: brass sounds etc.) Right - this is called "General Midi." #003 is always honky tonk piano (or...

Hm, where I come from an atomic wedgie is when you pull the elastic band all the way up to over the guy's head.

Much more of a paul-bunyan style folkloric thing.

Hey, did you guys hear that inverse sold his alesis reverb wedgie on ebay?

Maybe the solution is to make less .003dB changes?

No serious - I find trackballs to be more conducive to ergonomic computing than mouseses. Go TB.

Douglas - the JV1010 will give you all those things in passable form. The pianos are a bit tinny, but hey, for the 80's it's not bad. I actually quite like its organs and brass sounds. One thing you'll want to do after buying it is turn *off* the reverb that's on everything by default. As for the pr...

Ah - I was wondering who the guy was. I was struck by how he was the only guy in the room who lacked, as we say, "star quality."

Really pretty good voice, though.

Cereal, totes, that wang be boo..uh, right-o, then, sounds great, person I irregularly communicate with. What's an "inverseroom" anyway? I definitely don't know what you do for a living! Seriously, a podcast would be awesome - you could have *audio* samples of what different stuff sounds like (like ...

Musicians wouldn't feel the need to be great singers, great songwriters, great musicians AND attractive.

For those of us to whom all this doesn't come naturally, of course. 8)

Knights Who Say Neve wrote:serious chunks. I've taken to using google's "advanced search" feature and restricting it to the tapeop.com domain. That works much better than the one here. Just don't do it in China.
That's a good tip. But now what are we going to gripe about?
