haha glad the "package" is ok. I briefly contemplated editing it out but decided it was a waste of time and didn't matter anyway, besides who am I to edit Leonardo da Vinci's Vetruvian Man? That would be blasphemous on other forums I'm sure. glad to see you guys' comments here, I read through a ton ...

the late to the party PM1000
Thought i'd share even though these have been done by plenty of people and i'm rather late to the game. Finally got these finished up enough that they are fully functional and sounding good in their stock form. I still obviously have to wire in the DI jack post input transformer, as well as changing...

love me some william fitzsimmons. It's definitely two guitars throughout, very well played so they're nearly identical and panned (not hard LR but fairly panned). At 1:10 he seems to either wait to come in with the right panned acoustic and just hit the root notes (low strings only) quarter notes fo...

QRD diffusor adhesive
so a while back I built up a QRD diffusor based on the fun tapeop article a few issues ago. I used liquid nails to glue the 2x2 studs to the 3/4" thick baseboard in the given pattern and was quite confident in the effectiveness of the liquid nails..... but alas! My confidence was proven to be naivet...

Re: processing acoustic guitar in a dense mix
One, how PROMINENT does, this acoustic guitar need to be in this particular mix? Is it a solo type feature? Is it a background rhythm? Glad to hear this. Definitely reminds me of the first considerations I think about when starting. I mostly work with either singer/songwriter solo acoustic stuff, fo...

processing acoustic guitar in a dense mix
what's your general plan of attack for treating acoustic guitar tracks in a dense mix? feel free to discuss anything from mic selection, stereo/mono, panning, outboard gear for tracking, mix techniques, compression, etc? I would especially be interested in hearing what plugin EQ anyone is using to s...

these guys from panda studios in California are apparently developing a mic placement robot to sell and distribute themselves. http://recordinghacks.com/2012/07/17/panda-studios-microphone-robot/ I'm definitely interested in buying one seeing as how I wouldn't even know where to begin on diying this...

very nice looking. I definitely prefer the look of the wood framed absorption panel as opposed to those that are completely wrapped in fabric with just a back bracing so it looks like a big pillow. Do you happen to have a link of the lattice you used? What material is it made of and how thick, etc ?...

This isn't a book, but you might want to look at the MITx program (now part of EdX). I also found this a while back when I was amassing books and resources for my own learning. Some that I have found to be great, and am still reading/going through so still much to learn... General Electronics & Ele...

dude, i dig this! I would agree the vocals are a bit too high and up front, during certain sections in the mix but not to the point that it's too distracting or takes away from the song as a whole so that's ok. I really like the stereo vocals sections and the verbs and delays you used sound awesome!...

there's been a lot of love lately for Equator Audio's line of powered speakers. Check out the tapeop review of the D5 here http://www.tapeop.com/reviews/88/d5-compact-powered-monitor/ . I have been wanting to check them out for some B monitors since reading that review. I currently use B&W matrix 80...
