will give this a shot. I doubt I'll do mods like higher gain fet, but are there any easy things like removing baffles to do right away?

I saw the Geek Squad van at my neighbors, getting their TV fixed. So I walked over there and asked if they guy knew anything about recording levels and stuff. He said he'd take a look. the guitar amp is mic'd close, that mic goes to a mic pre, compressor, and console with preset settings. the vocal does the same, different mic and channel. none of my gear has any manuals. It is what it is. The guitar won't go quieter. All the knobs are as low as they go. Until you turn down that guitar, there really is no point in saying anything at all about the vocal. You can turn down the guitar amplifier to control it's level into the console, if ...

The guitar won't go quieter. All the knobs are as low as they go. Until you turn down that guitar, there really is no point in saying anything at all about the vocal.
