i can still totally remember being in a burgerking in a mall in west hartford, ct and hearing 'refugee' for the first time, thinking 'holyshitthisisawesome!' Ha, I guess you mean the West Farms mall! (I lived in Fairfield and Litchfield counties.) I agree, "Refugee" is one of those songs that's jus...

what is the benefit of denormalling? that still has me stumped. actually that question is for anyone. You want your effects, comps, delays, etc.denormalled because otherwise they create a feedback loop into themselves. I made this mistake when I first set up my patchbays. Yep, this is pretty much wh...

I amazingly saw this laying on a random table in a local Goodwill and snatched it up for like 50 cents. It was in perfect condition and I gave it to a friend because of a lack of a turntable at the time. So you're friends with 50 Cent? That is cool! The only recent case for me where this has worked...

I just set up a Neutrik bay similar to yours (48-pt 1/4"), one thing to add. You might want to set up some outboard stuff denormalled. I set my pres, main comp, tape deck, and DAW half-normalled (no full normalling on mine), and then the last few pairs are denormalled, outs over ins: compressor, FX,...

$300 is what I paid a few months ago. Seems to be the going rate, so I wouldn't say that is a screaming deal you must jump on.

I like mine and think it's worth what I paid. I have not used the ART. I'd guess the difference is not huge, so maybe decide on portability vs. rackability?

New Tom Petty film "Running Down a Dream"

I just watched this (over 3 nights!) and found it pretty entertaining. Lots of footage of the HB's in studios past and present (did they always have a camera around or what?). Lots of choice gear. I thought two of the most interesting points were: * the different styles of producers Jimmy Iovine and...

I agree. I have both CD and vinyl versions, the LP sounds really good.

Now go and get The Blow Up on vinyl from ROIR.

For albums, I'd add Jesse Sykes "Like, love ...".

I also really like some of the songs on these:

Rilo Kiley "Blacklight"
Ryan Adams "Easy Tiger"
Andrew Bird "Armchair"

I've had them for a while too. They sound great, while you have a good seal. Unfortunately I can't seem to keep a good seal on them for longer than 15 minutes. I have this problem, too. But they still sound "good" without a perfect seal, so I can live with it. Mine came with different size tips, bu...
