As far as I know, the playlists are dumped, ie, OMF (and AAF) does not support it. You chould place each alternate on a new track, PITA but will get you there...

+1,000,000 on the 500 series, get a bunch of different sounds cheap (relatively), modular etc.. Although I recommend buying one or two choice modules over a few cheaper ones.
