So how is it? I kinda wanted one for a while...I ended up with an AX80 instead. The whole cassette storage thing really sucks...and no sysex. But it's a great keyboard. Sorry I can't help you with the patches...but if the AX80 is any indication, Akai's factory patches are not worth having. It sound...

Akai AX73

I don't suppose anyone here has the original factory patches for a Akai AX73 :?: I picked one up today. It's been sitting at the pawn shop in the microwave section??!! I figured correctly that they boys there didn't have a clue. It works fine, but the most if not all the original patches have been o...

When I was trying out J45's, I played about 15 before I paid. I played some from the fifties and sixties, and one from the forties, and a lot of new ones. And the best one was a 2001 Bozeman. And that's the one I bought. And it remains the best one I've ever laid my hands on. Quality control is a f...

Are you saying you got better sounds when you upgraded to the 520 or the ghost. I plan on upgrading to a ghost or similar board in the future but that won't be for a while. I might be interested in the cables and patchbays. What is the make of the cables and patchbay? The Ghost was an improvement o...

I dunno about a Studiomaster, but I had a 520 for a long time, and did many records on it. I liked a lot about it. The connection options is really useful. I stepped up to a Ghost, and occasionally miss some of the 520 features. Downside is the RCA/-10. As soon as I upgraded I got better sounds, wit...

I have 2 19" flat monitors... I don't have them between the speakers though. I set the off to the side, so I don't have to stare at them when I'm mixing. I mix at the board, so by that point I've done any rides in the computer that I'm going to do. Recently i got rid of the last CRT in the house. Ma...

I went through the same process just a couple of months ago. Except for having to insert my DP disc, everything came right back up. I used CC Cloner with no problem at all.
