Hell, when I'm not in the studio, I'm reading about recording, or researching gear, or typing messages on the board at 2:30 in the morning.

I sure as hell wish this job could be in a better location.

And he even did the wavey thing with the faders!

Just like in the catalogs!

Total cost? Sturdiness on a scale of 1-5?

Good work.

Re: Recording Schools Worth It?

don't forget the indiana university program, you are recording with one of the best music schools in the nation and they have a great bachelor's degree option. Nope. Save your money. At Master Control Recording, we avoided people from Recording Schools as they would have no practical experience. Th...

Re: My Oven a plate reverb?

A brief description of a plate reverb (at least some of the EMT plates): Thin sheet of metal in an enclosure. A small driver is attached to the plate. The plate is suspended with a bunch of springs on all side (really high tension if I'm not mistaken - servicing is a bitch), and there are contact pi...

Bravo Alex,

Elegant, mature, and easy to find the information

One thing that I am curious about (for anyone in this thread) is how much business their website brings them.

Did you do anything specifically for search engines and whatnot?

Re: Converting DVD audio to CD audio

You would have to find a DeMuxing (DeMultiplexing) program to convert those back to usable audio files for DAWs and whatnot. What you would end up with might either be a PCM, DTS, or AC3 file. However, if this is a DVD-A disc, I do not know of any tool to demux it. If it is DVD-Video then you should...

Re: Peak + RMS Level variance on Album

Sound like the CD wasn't mastered, or (Assuming it sounds good) it had a mastering engineer smart enough not to squish all of the tracks for 'radio ready'. Your VU/RMS levels will be what gives you your -percieved- loudness. A quick test to show the difference is start a track in PT (or whatever DAW...

Speaking from experience the M1 is also EXTREMELY rugged.

Temperature really high, really low, high power low power - just about anything: they handle it well.

WTB/Rent Production Sound Equipment

Greetings, I'm working on a low budget (sigh) independant in the Seattle/Tacoma Area. I need to acuire by either renting or buying gear. If someone has recommendations of rental houses (in the Sea/Tac area) to look at, I'd appreciate some advice. Or if I could rent from a person, or buy. Any advice ...
