Audio Technica 20/20 - Overhead Test Sound Clip

I got these 2020's for about $68 a piece. I threw them up very quickly as overheads. Approx 2.5 feet above the cymbals and about 3 feet apart. The phase was perfect (not sure how that happened). They went into Sytek (with NO Burr-Brown) and right into Pro Tools. There is a little bit of Focusrite EQ...

I don't think they're that similar to a C-48. They sound like a really modern, hi-fi C-12 to me. They do make a solid-state version (c-800, without the "G" and without the heat sink), but it's usually the "G" that you hear on all the Britney Spears and R&B type stuff with the super-hypey top end. C...

In the case of this mic, the tube is housed outside the body in that engine look-alike, which is actually a heat sink.
Bingo! This is exactly what I mean.

R&B / Hip Hop Microphone

Many times (on TV) when I see artists tracking vocals in an R&B or hip-hop situation, I notice this large electronic device protruding from the microphone. It looks like an "engine cylinder" ...

Here's my situation: I have 16 XLR channels coming in from the wall. I have a Mackie 24 x 8 mixer. I have 8 channels of mic preamps. I have Pro Tools with (16 ins and outs) between (2) 888/24 interfaces. I have two ADAT machines. I need the flexibility to route the signal from the wall-snake to eith...

I've got the DBX PB-48. I have it mostly fully normalled. The Manual: ftp://ftp.dbxpro.com/pub/PDFs/Manuals/English/PB48%20revB.pdf I read the manual. It only tells you how to "half-normalize". I need Full. (in the back) - I need to connect Digidesign interface inputs with outputs of my micpres. BU...

DBX Patchbay - Can This Be Fully Normalled?

I've read through the manual for the PB48. They come in half-normal mode from the factory. I've flipped them into "de-normalized".

Like the Behringer, I want to be able to make these FULLY normalized. Can the DBX's do that?

I've been running Mix era systems for years now, and they work well for me. The downside is definitely the 888/24's, which leave much to be desired, but are useable. My plan is to save for a Lynx Aurora 16, and use it via AES into the 888's, and if/when it comes time to upgrade to an HD system, I'l...
