If the power transformer has taps for 110V as well as 220V then you shouldn't have a problem. Usually there's some sort of switch, or in the worst case you'll need to resolder a pair of jumpers on the transformer. However if the transformer doesn't have two sets of primaries you'll need an external ...

If the connector is stubby and all black it's prob a relatively recent one. Sennheiser should be able to fix it, though they charge almost the price of a new mic to do it, so you might not want to go that route. MD421s are a total nightmare to work on. I've had more luck destroying than fixing them....

You can definitely capture the drums with just one or two mics (maybe an overhead and a inside kick mic). I'd prob go with the fathead directly over the kit between the kick pedal and snare, and the beta57 on kick. Ev664 is pretty cool on a guitar amp. 2200 would prob work best as a room, though in ...

I've used the ultratouch (or an equivalent) for some bass traps before and it worked just fine. MUCH MUCH MUCH nicer to work with than fiberglass... You'll still have a week of blue snot though if you don't wear a mask. Old people's sweaty jeans snot. Just getting over a rash of it myself actually...

Looks pretty cool to me. M49 is one hell of a mic. I see what Jim's saying about their claming you can build a M50 with it. No way you can get a similarly spec'd spherical omni aluminum capsule, unless somebody over at Group DIY started building one, and even then I'd be pretty suspicious. Capsules ...

The only reason to do it is because you love it and think your own personal aesthetic is valid. Being confident is hard, but you wouldn't even be bothering if somewhere inside you didn't think you had a handle on it. You're absolutely right that you can second guess any record into mud. Someone once...

You need some sort of interface to get digital ins for your macbookPro. What era is the computer? The interface you choose will depend on what ports the macbook has available. Anyway, I'd try to find one with AES, as TOSlink is limited to 48k. Not that you really need to run any higher, but the Luci...
