The final product sounds like the Police. Drumming is badass....... Seeing as he's credited, that's probably Homer Steinweiss, drummer for the Dap-Kings and regular Mark Ronson collaborator. Production and recording-wise sounds like the song is split into 2 parts - the Police knock-off sound of the...

Songs In The Key Of Life

No filler there to my ears. Heck, I consider it an incomplete listen if I don't stick the bonus 7" on at the end too.

That's funny! At first I thought that you had gone to all of the trouble to shoot it on Super 8 film to make it look retro. And then, and then... HEY! (I'm feeling a little ripped-off here, but again nice version; you couldn't manage to find a stock shot for the Flexitone solo?)... GJ Hehe - thanks...

Season's Greetings!

Some of you liked the 'Little Drummer Boy' cover I recorded last Christmas with a friend, and thus encouraged we decided to do a whole album of such covers. Festive lulz all round! Some of the tracks up in full on Soundcloud if you're in the mood ... https://soundcloud.com/olympic-cyclone-band and I...

Sounds like a fun record to make - hope it goes well! Bluesbreakers was recorded at Decca Studios in Broadhurst Gardens, there are a few pictures of sessions online - here's some showing a bit of the room (not a John Mayall session, but similar era) http://www.coda-uk.co.uk/mixed_bag2.htm#decca And ...

Some proper scary business going on here! Loving your work folks :) I did a thing last year based around some samples off an old 'Music & Movement' type record to include on one of my 'Funky Halloween' mix tapes. Here's the track, there's a link to the mix there too : http://soundcloud.com/rubberfun...

4th'd (5th'd?) on the plain white (going very grey now) felt beater, plenty of thump. You could try the card beer-mat taped on the head at the beater contact point thing if you want a bit more click / slap. I have the same kit you've picked up (80s Ludwig Rocker right?) and it originally had Ludwig ...

I love gratuitous use of the fish-eye lens too. Which makes that shot perfect! GJ Hehe - cheers, must do another one of the other side of the room! PPS-- R-Funk-- Is that a Brazilian tamborim underneath the Portishead, or just a regular headed tambourine? GJ Just a regular headed tambourine, pretty...

picked up a pretty clean late 80's/early 90's Ludwig "Rockers" drum kit tonight for $120. five piece, with some stands and a Zildjan ZBT ride included. not sure if that's a good deal or not... they're old enough to be made in the US (North Carolina) based on my brief research. picked up a nice 70's...

Been a while since I did any vinyl with them, but have you spoken to Metropolis? I know they were offering other more specialist vinyl mastering options (half speed cuts etc) so might be worth a try? http://metropolis-group.co.uk/mastering/ Did my last vinyl project with Chris Potter at Electric and...
