Hey Hey! It's all good. I guess I'm still scratching my head just because I've always done stereo pairs of overheads and then stereo pairs as room mics. If we're talking a single mic over the shoulder (and from the first of those threads - thanks, by the way - it sounds like the Bova's looking strai...

Hey Hey! Do I understand correctly that the Bova's positioned such that the drummer's torso actually sort of casts a shadow, keeping the high-hat out of that mic, but still catching the snare? And the U47 room mic at 3-6 feet out... That's not centered on the kick, then, but a little off to the drum...

Joel Hamilton drum mic technique?

Hey Hey! What's that drum micing trick, apparently involving a Bova Ball over the drummer's Right shoulder and a U47 above the kick, between the rack tom and floor tom/ride? Having that idea in the back of my mind, it occurred to me that perhaps an M150 could work in place of the Bova, and in any ca...

Hey Hey!

Thanks!

Dang... I like 88.2 kHz.

I greatly appreciate you taking the time to answer, though.

Cheers,

192 I/O - 18 inputs?

Hey Hey! Forgive me not really having time to research this further... On a Digi 192 I/O with the extra card allowing 16 analog inputs, can I not simultaneously use the S/PDIF input to add two channels via my Rosetta 800's S/PDIF connection? Is it an either/or situation, with 16 inputs max? (If so, ...

A need for Tweed...

Hey Hey! So I got myself a CM7. Of course it comes with... just about nothin'. Power supply, shockmount, and reasonably nice wooden box in plane white cardboard boxes. XLR to Tuchel and IEC cables in a ziploc bag. There isn't even a warranty card, let alone a manual. Not even a Wunder sticker for th...

Right, and you likely have a main clocksource too (Rosetta?). What version Pro Tools are you running? My main clock source is the Black Lion Audio Micro Clock MkII - (A thing of beauty, let me tell you.) I can also choose to clock from the Rosetta or the 002R, but why would I? I think I'm running 8...

Ah yes... That's right. Some of the plugs are listed for other delay-inducing factors.

But yeh... The UAD-1 (or 2) cards shouldn't be able to do anything to your clocking.

As for the UAD, it's sample rate for processing is 192 kHz, that's part of why even at 44.1 kHz, the plugins sound great- the sounds are converted up and converted when a plugin is used. This is possible with OS X- whereas is was NOT possible with OS 9.2.2. Not all UAD plugs upsample, only a select...

Hey Hey! Now we could argue the merits of sequential serial numbers against matching by measurement, or even by golden ears, but really, whether you're talking Cockroaches from the French Quarter or Palmetto Bugs from the American Sector (and let's not forget Water Bugs from Biloxi, as afterall the...

Hey Hey! I personally believe a well modeled plug-in can sound just as good as it's analog gear equivalent, but until UA makes one for the UAD-2, you'll probably want to stick with the "real thing". The key, of course, is going to be getting a perfectly matched pair. Now we could argue the merits of...
