i have one and i love it. i had it upgraded by Black Lion audio and the upgrade improved transient response and detail in the A/D and D/A. The traveler is very easy to use, sounds great, has great features, and works really well in my Win XP environment. The only drawbacks i've found is the headphon...

phantompower, sorry if i sounded like an asshole in the last post. i think it was just some of my own frustration at not finding work around here. that said, there are a ton of clubs around here. i don't do any live sound work and i don't know anyone who does, but if i were you i would just go to a ...

i hate to be rude or discouraging but raleigh isn't really overflowing with large studios. i live in raleigh and all the engineering work i've gotten has been from bands i've met and through friends. that said, i think raleigh and the whole triangle is a great place to live with lots of great bands....

I've got one and I use it often on bass cabs with the + setting. It seems to add another octave of low end extension and is great to blend in with another mic and / or bass DI. The kickball is awesome when paired with a 57 or i5 on heavily distorted guitars. I've also had success with it under floor...

the mkl2500's that i heard at guitar center during their last blowout had the weirdest ringing resonance that was very pronounced. i felt like darth vader talking through one. anyone else notice this? i picked up some 319's instead and they don't have this problem, but they are kinda boring. i need ...

i'd love to come. i missed the other one(s) but would love to hang out, drink, and geek out. how soon should we try to do this? i'm in raleigh and i'd be into meeting anywhere in the triangle.

I love the pr40 on kick drums, toms, and guitar and bass cabs. i'm sure it would be great on snare, too, but i haven't tried that yet. It picks up plenty of tight low frequencies while having a slight presence boost from about 1-4KHz, which can be great for some things. It's never harsh sounding but...

OK, here are some before /after samples of the MOTU Traveler, as modifyed by Black Lion Audio. This is not the most scientific test and I don't think it provides a true representation of what the mod does, but I'm posting these samples because of so many requests to hear some. The samples are of com...

I finally broke down and bought a new pedal recently (I'm not rich and even though I'm a musician, I spend most of my money on mics and pres right now!) I got the Pearl Eliminator P-2000C. It comes with 3 different interchangeable cams so you can pick which one works best with your style (it affects...

The first ribbon mic happened because someone was at NAMM and a rep from the Chinese factory told a guy that he could order a small production run, minimum 100-units for $70 each. Naturally, the gear-slut side of him and the cheap-ass musician side of him clicked into action at the thought of a $70...

I just paid Matt tonight for my Traveler upgrade, and it should be back to me soon (by the way, his price includes return shipping!) I missed this interface while it was gone. I bought a Presonus Firebox to hold me over and it's functionality is nowhere near the Traveler's (although it does have a l...
