Yeah, I've seen them go for under $300 lately. Sucks, cause I just sold mine for $300. Everything is being given away right now.

Doesn't pertain to your question...but just wanted to say that is one of the best sounding records. Been listening the hell out of it lately.

Stone Temple Pilots are killer at this. Before I read Chris' post I was thinking "there's no way I'm mentioning STP here on Tape Op." They were the first example I was thinking of. :) That singer is annoying, but they do this well. However...I think one of the necessary evils in their high energy/s...

That's part of ebay listing protocol for all items over $100,000. That and "sorry, can't test if it works...or check the serial number...or add an intelligible photo...or prove my existence..."

$300 is likely not going to land you a fun, working analog. There are some good digital hybrids in that price range.

The best analogs seem to hover around the $1000 range. The pinnacle stuff over 4 grand should be for film composers and dudes with synth techs in their band.

Sinners. Now God will punish you guys by letting Colorado drop off into the ocean...

...which logistically doesn't sound geographically possible, God can still make happen.

You think someone would be good after helping develop the Manhatten Project as a teenager...but nooooo...Tom Dowd has to go and pioneer every recording technique and technology still used today and produce Layla.
