Your message title implies some kind of dichotomy between Analog (sic) and Reel to Reel 8 Tracks. Okay. I only know the analog realm (menus are for restaurants), but what I've learned there should be applicable in the digital World. Bussing,simply put, enables you to assign a mixer channel (or several) to a track on your recording device. You can use the busses to assign one channel to one track...
