I have a pair of Electro Harmonix 12AY7 pres for sale. They both work perfectly well and sound good. They come with power supplies and stock tubes. I haven't had any room for them in my setup for the last year, so I don't really have any need for them. $135 shipped each or $250 shipped for the pair...

Yes, the adapters will work without noticable signal degradation..I've used XLR to 1/4", 1/8" adapters without problems..Good luck.

If you are using it basically for mixing and want some character, I'd consider a DDA" live" console..I had a "S" series ( the " M" series is very similar) and liked it very much..Simple and straight forward as you mentioned..Good luck..!
