I found a Yahama SHS-10 (the red keytar that plays Wham's 'Last Christmas' as a demo) for $6 in a pawn shop, and my 4-year-old is all over it. Although it's a toy, it has some pretty useful patches. Until recently, I had another Yamaha toy keyboard that was fun, particularly for its bass sounds (bra...

A massive 24" Avedis Zildjian ride cymbal. I honestly didn't realize they were made in such a large size! The stamp looks to be from the 60s, but I'm no Zildjian expert. I just needed a ride cymbal and lucked into this one at a price I couldn't resist. The previous owner told he wanted it 'gone or i...

Okay, I'll give this one last shot at $90 shipped and paypalled in the lower 48 states. I'll trade for a very clean Sennheiser e609 or a working Sansamp Bass DI (most recent version).

Here's one for the vintage analog drum machine museum: a very clean example of an Ace Tone Rhythm Ace FR-1, circa 1967. Ace Tone would go on to become Roland a few years later, so this unit is an ancestor of the famed Roland TR808 Rhythm Composer from 1980. Although this is no 808, there is a striki...

This isn't for recording, but I picked up a Sansui AU-4400 stereo integrated amp at a yard sale in town today for a dollar. Typical mid-70's overbuilt loveliness with hi and lo pass filters, loudness, and some other bells and whistles. http://www.hifiengine.com/images/model/sansui_au-4400.jpg That'...

Dropping the price to $100 shipped and Paypalled before heading to ebay.

If anyone has a Sansamp Bass Driver DI in good condition to trade, please let me know. Also interested in working vintage drum machines. Thank you!

Congratulations! As I said in my other post, I'd never heard of this particular model of AKG spring reverb. I do know the splashing sound of an overdriven BX-20 figured prominently in the sound of 80s Jamaican reggae and dancehall music after the Channel One studio in Kingston upgraded from the BX-1...

Holy moley! I knew about the BX-5, the BX-10 and the BX-20, but never heard of the BX-22.

Audio Technica ATM250 Kick Drum Mic

SOLD! Thanks valverec! I have for sale an Audio Technica ATM250 kick drum mic in excellent condition, with clip and bag. Also sounds great on bass guitar cabinets. I simply have too many kick mics. $110 shipped (with tracking number) and Paypalled in the lower 48 states. I would consider an even tr...

No but it looks cool. If you can make kicks and snares with that, I'd probably get it.

I have a RE320 - the new version - and I like it. +1 During a brief period of broadcast microphone insanity, I had an a recent RE20, a recent RE27 and a brand new RE-320 in my possession to compare. On my own voice (deep with nasal quality) I actually liked the RE27 best (sounded like God's own mic...

Yes indeed. They are fairly badass mics (of course I love 57s). Now I have a 516EQ, which is like a 545 or 57 with an equalizer. One of my most-used mics.

Fleet Foxes self titled album. I keep wondering what reverb they're using. Bricasti? EMT plate? Lexicon? Amazing chamber?

I have an old Sony consumer R2R, and I've been enjoying using it as an effect, particularly on drum sounds. I do like the gritty compression it provides when you slam the inputs. And on lower IPS settings, it has a bandwith-limited lo-fi quality that makes the source sound like it was recorded in th...
