I have a Trident 80B dual channel mic/pre-eq. Very nice piece of kit. I got this about 10 years ago when Ted Fletcher the original JoeMeek guy was still doing them. It has spent a great deal of time living on kick and snare in that time. PMI/Trident are about to re-issue them soon i think. See here ...

I have read about the old mackie HMX-56, but it's only got 1 stereo and 4 mono inputs. If i have a full band tracking live, that wouldn't be enough in most cases. Coles 4038

Coles 4038 & Oktava ML52 ribbons are both great that fall in this area.
