FS: Spectra Sonics 610

I have decided to part with my only remaining 610. Haven't recorded much of anything over the past couple of years and a decision has been made to liquidate some assets. Excellent condition...the meter bulb and capacitors were replaced by Spectra Sonics a couple years ago and since then it has only ...

Maybe somebody installed an potentiometer with an inappropriate taper. Pots for audio are normally a logarithmic taper. I can't say that I have heard the effects of linear taper pot within an audio circuit, but perhaps that is what you are experiencing. Sorry for answering without a definitive answer.

I have been playing a 000-15S for a few months. Played both the 000-15 and 000-15S before deciding. They are both pretty nice guitars, however the wider fretboard of the 15S felt better to me. Very rich sound, but, as mentioned by a few of you previously, this guitar sounds much better (to me) when ...

I am not sure if I understand your question...and how you are relating the decrease of a track's level in a mix to dither. Dither is a psychoacoustic technology (algorithm) that is used to salvage the sonic data within a bit-depth range which will eventually be truncated (wordlength reduction). The ...

Based on what I have read in the Pro Tools 8 Reference manual, I would guess that the mix buss is not dithered until you apply dither (via a plug-in) to the Master Fader track. Can't say I know this for sure though. From pg. 960 of the PT8 Reference PDF: "ProToolsLE and M-Powered systems use 24- bit...

Although it's clearly not, I thought this post was a natural evolution from the debate over "marijuana in the control room/studio". Then as I read on, I began to think that you spilled water and Psilocybin began to grow under your bed. I guess I was really hoping to read about shrooms.

Yeah, that's a tough question to answer. First off, you aren't getting a "good tone". Well, what does that mean to you...or me...or a Japanese noise band? Second off, what kind of guitar are you using, what pickup, what DI, what kind of song or mix are you working with already, how well are you play...

Noeqplease, are you currently using the full version of Eleven? If so, have you also used Amp Farm? I guess I will get to check out Eleven to some extent, when I get PT 8 up and running. I just realized that my purchase of NI Komplete included Guitar Rig. I simply forgot about this program. Might as...

I hear what you are saying about not necessarily needing an open sound. I am sure most people roll of the top end of reverbs and delays in an attempt to recreate a truly ambient environment, where HF energy dies out quicker (depending on the listening location). For the longest time after first purc...

I don't recall the part numbers off hand. There are two different felt pad parts within the 201, although they only differ by a small measurement in dimension. When I get home from work today I will grab the service manual and PM you the actual part numbers.

I own the RE-201 and previously owned a Roland SRE-555, which I bought to clean up and resell for profit. As stated previously, general maintenance will require cleaning the tape heads and other tape contact surface metals, changing the tape from time to time, changing the felt pads (I ordered a bul...

Amp Modeling Plug-Ins For Pro Tools LE

I am wondering what amp modeling software other Pro Tools LE software users are using. Just recently I have been reading about software modeling and listening to albums that claim to have used software for every guitar tone. Many use Line 6's Amp Farm, however that is sadly TDM-only (so I believe). ...

Seeking Martin Guitar Luthier: Austin, TX

Picked up a Martin 000-15S a few months ago. Love the way this guitar plays and sounds. Has seen progressive development of fret buzz and light intonation issues, so a setup is in order. While it's being setup I was hoping to have new tuners, nut and saddle installed. Does anybody happen to know a r...

Yes, unfortunately I have liquidated most of my recording gear. At least the items that have maintained value. Trying to clear the debt COMPLETELY, so I am selling many precious items. I probably priced these too low, but I needed them to move quick.
