I already put in my $0.02 in the other thread but I realized I only talked about large diaphragm dynamics. Partly this is because they are good for everything and I don't love a sm57 on vocals. I always made sure to keep the monitor volume the same so punches never sounded different. This would be very hard for me. I seem to adjust monitor levels compulsively without noticing.
