Re: Gain structure
Ahhhh, I see how it is....you go away to Italy and come back jivin' like Galileo. Haha, seriously, how was Italy bro? I tend to try to hit the Pre as hard as I can...this usually means padding the mic in order to do that. I am not as technically savvy as Joel (or as I should be in general)...but it ...

Re: Silly client expressions
MAN...there are SO MANY dumb things, wish I could write 'em all down. Vocal session - Singer: "Do you have a mirror?" Me: "huh? Yeah, one in the bathroom." Singer: "No, like one I can have out in the live room...I sing better when I can see myself." This guy couldnt sing better if his life de...

Re: The Superficial importance of a studio's image
Haha, that one is good too. On a similar note, after doing this for 7 years or so...I have always wanted to make the faceplate of a piece of geat with a HUGE knob that needs to be turned with two hands...above it it says "SUCK" and goes from 0 to 10. Whenever a band member has some dumb ass comment ...

Re: The Superficial importance of a studio's image
Haha, definitely let us know how it goes...
But this is kind of getting away from my original thoughts. It has more to do with what people perceive as what a studio should look like...and the backlash received for not being that.
thoughts?

Haha, that is pretty funny and smart. Only hole in the plan is most either call or e-mail first...and want to know rates right then and there to see if they can even afford it...I guess you could dodge that question like a politician...but they are usually demanding.

The Superficial importance of a studio's image
Alright...so everyone knows that quality of your recordings draws people into your "commercial" studio usually...but I often think (know) that when a band that hasn't heard much of what you have done or any at all comes to do a studio tour...their impressions of what a studio should look like plays ...

WOW! awesome review by Bully Magazine. I can assure you, this man was not paid! By Ken Wohlrob Amplified Heat In For Sin Arclight Records www.amplifiedheat.com Not since Johnny Winter's bastardization on The Progressive Blues Experiment has a band so unabashedly mangled the blues tradition?in a real...

Re: Amplified Heat (Austin, Texas)...new MP3 up
And here is one from Monterey County Weekly: AMPLIFIED HEAT In For Sin | Arclight Records Mean as mean can be, these rock ?n? roll rattlesnakes deliver what must be the oddest hybrid of the year. Revving up the aged blues thing and liberally borrowing from a panoply of unlikely sources (the title tr...

Hey Alissa...glad you dig the album!
Jimmy...67% sounds about right. For an example of a one sheet go to www.arclightrecords.com and then to the releases section...there a couple there.
Best quote I have heard to describe these guys so far has been "They are the Black Flag of Blues!"

Re: Amplified Heat (Austin, Texas)...new MP3 up
A review from Hellride Music for this release: Having played together since 1988, the brothers that comprise Texas trio Amplified Heat have released In for Sin, a debut in name only. Combining the sounds of the first six ZZ Top records, pre-Another Perfect Day Motorhead, Link Wray and Cream (who ins...

Re: Amplified Heat (Austin, Texas)...new MP3 up
Hey man...I guess you are kind of new to this board? I see a few folks from SR.com over here...mostly its Joel and myself though (I think). Thanks for the kind words and the offer to help. Mauro (one of my partners at the label) is about to mail out all the posters to the clubs...maybe in a week or ...
