I just got some Equator D5's. They're my first pair of monitors, so I can't comment on the comparison to NS10's. BUT they got a good review in the magazine a couple issues ago, and I think they sound prettyyyy awesome. The best part- they're only $300! They're definitely worth checking out http://ww...

this is certainly helpful info. im 20 and im having a little meltdown about my future in audio engineering. ive been on the interweb for hours looking up schools/scams, and reading articles and opinions on becoming an audio engineer. the verdict: dont do it/just as likely as becoming a rock star/you...

I'm sure we would all love to see/hear music that's completely new to us in some way, but I think the truth is- that's not gunna happen because nothing is original. Sure- GaGa is newer and ...

nice quote! I'd say in OP's case, if the vocal is already tracked, and it's accapella, then no. It can make a huge difference it you flip the polarity switch on a preamp while tracking. Throwing the mic out of phase by reversing the polarity can sound either wonderful or terrible. Flip and decide w...

if that's your price range i would probably skip the Tascam M520. i have one and i'm reasonably happy with it (especially considering the price, i paid $300 plus a bit more to have it gone over by a tech). it sounds fine but not great, and while the routing options are pretty flexible, there are al...
