I've never had good luck with that DeEsser. It often distorts when the gain reduction hits a certain point in my experience. I can never get it to do what I want without nasty artifacts. That's why I'd download the Massey one & give it a spin. Can't hurt since you can d/l it for free. I have bought...

Per, the Digi legacy plugin manual, Dyn II has a DeEsser, but it's mono. Not sure if that would work in multi-mono for a stereo overhead track

Thanks so much for that explanation. 1 thing... I'm still running PT6.9, so I don't have the Dyn III plug available to me. Been a while since I used Dyn II, but per the Digi Legacy Plug-in manual, Dyn II has side chain input as well. It looks like you'd have create the side chain send manually. if ...

Re: Bands/Artists you discovered late in life....

Man....I can't get enough of Guided By Voices! I recently got turned on to them and I love the music and low budget approach. Hmm, I guess I'm not the lofi type and never have been able to get into GBV. Bob and Mitch use to come into the music store that I worked in in the early 80's and rent PAs a...

Acoustic Guru Ethan Winer has a some simple acoustic panels that may help you. The pic is about 2/3rds of the way down the page. If you fix any major offending components, then isolate the rest of the computer noise with panels and keep the rejection side of your mics toward the computer area, you m...

Have you checked out Hauer's in Dayton? I'd be surprised that they wouldn't have something with all the band and orchestra stuff that they do.

There's also St Anne's Hill Violin shop on E 5th that may have something.
