At home I have marantz power amps, marantz receiver (used as a preamp) nice kimber cable, cambridge audio cd player & these amazing speakers the norh 7.0's in black marble. Look em up www.norh.com ...they make great speakers, power amps (some tube) & everything. I think they are one of the best of t...

I think I'm going to spring for the $195 duplicator vcr on ebay...could be cool...& well I'll always have a nice vcr. I wrote the guy about the vcrs & this was the answer The record levels for audio can be fully adjusted. The Limiter is switchable from on to off. AJ DeLizza Video Systems Trading Co....

Re: Holy crap! I love tape!!! 15ips RULES!
back to reamping to a hi fi vcr... anyone know of a model with a recording level adjustment? this one says it has audio level controls... this could be the ticket... it also says it has a built in limiter.. that might defeat the purpose. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=21168&i...

Re: Recording Dirty Blues Harp in the Home Studio?
I just recorded my 1st harmonica last week. tried a green bullet & a 57 but we liked the sound of an mxl v69 tube mic, au 610 pre & a summit audio tube leveler with the gain on high in a live room about a foot from the mic. The player said he'd never heard himself sound so good. We are mixing tonigh...

Re: Good years for cheap Squier/Fender guitars?
I have a 95 mexi teli that I put a hot rails pick up in & it totally rocks. good heavy body & really great neck on that gtr.
i used it live & dropped it & put it thru hell but it's held up.
i love it.
i want to chisel out the neck pickup & put a humbucker in there.

Re: Jucifer
I've seen em a few times. I have to say I like listening to the albums more than taking the pummeling you get at the shows. But the whole visual of that crazy hottie amber playing a small club with a wall of 20 random speaker cabs behind her always brings tears of joy to my eyes.

Re: Any sturdy mic stand recommends for OH? (loooong reach)
I mounted 2 small telescoping, swiveling stands on the ceiling. it's nice to not have stands in the way. They reach all around & drummers love em. Also been using those little cad drum mic clips with good luck on toms (you don't have to use the cad mics with them).

Re: Guitar sounds - different mics and placements
Not much talk about any micing other than close up. I was recording a loud marshall jcm800/1960 cab with a sennheiser e609 right on the grill. I also had a mxl v69 about 16 ft back & together it sounded cool. There was a bit of a phasing issue that bothered me at 1st & I wasn't sure if we were going...

Re: Electro Harmonix's potentially very wack behavior
I bet you're pissed...I'm pissed just reading that. I have a holier grail on my short wish list. My buddy bought an EH electric mistress & it didn't work when he got it home. We opened it up & tested wires. Found out the on/off foot switch was wired all wrong. Worked fine after re-soldering but DAMN...

Re: You know what mic is the biggest piece of shit?
I hated my nt1. Tried it all the time for a year & NEVER liked it on anything. Really dull sounding & not much output. I always wondered if something was wrong with it. Like others have said..for the $$$ I like my studio projects C1 & that cad 179 quite a bit. I also dig MXL's v69 mogami tube mic fo...

Re: Opinions on Ward Beck
I have 2 of the wb460's racked up that I think are pretty cool. Lots of gain & lots of color. Great for bass DI's. I couldn't tell you what they sound like compared to neve or many other pre's because I haven't used enough. I can say compared to the ua 2-610 tube pre's I also use, the WB's are bette...
