Re: Wicked HUM!!!
It hums because it doesn't know the words..... But seriously, I run into that problem all the time, even with pro keyboards, that use a wall wart power supply. I always have to use the ground switch on the DI into the PA. The consumer level keyboards are worse. No real grounding and limited if any i...

Re: Fostex G24S Calibration; PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!
"Better yet, maybe I could make the oscillator hit 0VU on the tape machine, and measure the output to see where it's at?" Start here. I'll bet with unbalanced inputs this thing is -10dBV. The Mackie Eight buss has +4dBu/-10dBV switches on the Group Outs and Tape Returns. I believe there are LED dis...

Re: Fostex G24S Calibration; PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!
Maybe you can get some info here... http://mixonline.com/ar/audio_analog_tape_part/ It's an Eddie Ciletti from a few years ago in MIX. Find a dealer in your area that may have a manual. What scale are you working with? dBv/dBu/dBm .775volts =0dBv .245=-10dBv .0775=-20dBv On the dBV scale (capitol V,...

Re: guitar cab mic???
The Rode nt2 might be the mic I was talking about. I'm going to have to look for more side address dynamics and try them out. See if it makes a difference. Need to get my D12 wired up properly to check it out......

Re: guitar cab mic???
I did a live show in a small club for a Sennheiser endorsee. He brought a lot of his own mics. He had the e609 for his Boogie. I was so impressed by the accuracy of the tone I bought two of them. To me the 57s (I have plenty) and 421s (I have two) just don't stack up. It seems you have to EQ the pis...

Sell your metronome..
Sorry, if it's spaced evenly like you seem to say it is, it's got to be in the AC line voltage, or the units power supply, no? Has to be a powered source nearby causing issues...

Re: The Beatles vs. The Beach Boys
My vote is for The Beatles. Just in overall influence on what came after them. The later Beatles stuff is more relevant to today than anything the Beach Boys did.
Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the Beach Boys and believe they added a lot to our arsenal too. It's just the overall impact.

Re: Soundproofing bulkheads
I'm sure your problem is low freq in nature. Build a nice heavy door for the exit of the basement. This will go a long way toward reducing LF from getting out of the bulkhead. Preventing mids and highs is easy. The only way to prevent sound transmission out of a space, especially LF, is mass. Here's...

Re: LD condenser for vocals $800-$1200
You have A LOT of choices in that price range Your local PRO dealer should let you take some things overnight to check out and do some A/B tests.
It starts to be very subjective at that point.......
