Re: Tape-Op Co-Op ideas

012's would be great. I was thinking I may be the only person on this board that doesn't have a pair.

Yeah, the RNP is my next purchase actually. Pushed back slightly due to the mic purchase.

Re: Pacific Pro Audio R-one Ribbon mic?

Hey Devlars,

I think Serendipity was referring to the fact that your link points to the Nickleback thing and not another forum. Maybe that was your intention?

Re: Tape-Op Co-Op ideas

I think FMR probably operates on a thin margin, but of course I would love to get a RNC. I think the utility items would be great, mic stands, mic cables but the one thing it seems everyone is always requesting are good mic pre's at a decent price. Seems like if we could score something like that, t...

Re: Pacific Pro Audio R-one Ribbon mic?

Another suggestion that might be worth pursuing, and I'll preface by saying that I have no idea if it would actually work. But if we have this many people who would be willing to drop around $80 a peice on them, maybe it would be worth getting the list together of interested people and trying to mak...

Re: Mastering with Cubase SX

Great Man! Glad that was helpful. One last thing: I usually use the "x" mute tool as the cursor. I mute all tracks by clicking on the waves and then unmute them one at a time. It's much easier then clicking on each tracks individual Mute button. Plus you can't accidentally unmute all the tracks at o...

Re: Screen Refresh blues

AnalogElectric, Please post on the screen redraw issues. Same deal here, although not working with 30 tracks, so not a big hang up. But when I have a shitty drummer and the band is requesting editing, it can be frustrating. I was thinking of switching to Cubase 3 instead of the upgrade. As nice as N...

Re: Mastering with Cubase SX

I have Nuendo and I do all the actual mastering work with that using mostly waves plugs. Now when I say mastering, I am just talking about my band's music or local artists who don't have the budget to send it off to a real mastering lab, which I always recommend. Anyway, I usually line up each fully...

Re: (Whatever works) Equipment you love but evreyone else ha

I don't know if anyone really hates these, but they are dirt cheap and you can only buy them from Musicians Friend. Now if that doesn't make em a target, I don't know what would? The MXL 990 condensor mic's. I bought a pair based on some feedback here to use as OH's (thanks Everybody's X). They fkn ...

Re: Tascam M-320 Thoughts

Hey Catoogie, I am not familiar with the M-320, but I just bought a Tascam M-520 for $499 even, tax and all at a local shop. It is in great shape and other than general cleaning of a lot of scratchy pots (which are all good now) it is in perfect working order. I think the 320 is 4 bus and the 520 is...

How did I live before buying my new (old) Recording Console?

I bought, cleaned and hooked up my new a Tascam M-520 console and I can't even begin to say how much I am loving it. I use a DAW system, 16 i/o and was previously using a Mackie cr1604. I am not cracking on the Mackie, it served me well and I did some good recordings on it, but just the features alo...

Re: ART Pro VLA problem

Hey in the modification thread that was posted above the one guy says this: "There are 2 trim pots on the main board that (as far as I can tell) are for gain trimming. I just passed a 0db tone through both channels using a y-cord and adjust one channel to reflect that gain and then make the remainin...

Re: A good place to learn basic electronics

Hey all, My first job ever was installing car stereo's and I still love doing that, whenever the money allows. Anyway, this is a great little sight that really takes a simplistic approach and although it is geared to car stereo the guy discusses Ohm's law and a lot of basic concepts of diodes, capac...
