cymbals that are relatively/comparatively flat, thin and with small bells sound 'washy' to me.
they are also usually not as 'loud.' and maybe even a little 'dark.' 'okay!'

did you open up the plugs and make SURE that the snakes are wired 3 pin hot to the machine? are you monitoring the input, you can press 'all input'.

i modified the case of my old 219 per some instructions i found on this board. clipped off the bars housing the capsule leaving just the wire mesh. now it looks much cooler. also remove the HF extender (plastic piece in front of capsule). that made a big difference. less HF, but also less wierd reso...
