Probably too little, too late... but a WAY easier, no-math/programming way to add some "room" to the tracks... setup your kit in the same room they were in originally, setup stereo/mono/whatever mic/s in room, place and crank monitors in that room, play back the dry drum samples over those monitors,...

That's the problem with death metal/metal drums in particular... they almost never sound like drums when you're done... my trick for kick: Make the EQ curve look like this: \/ ITB, I set up a 3-band eq and just pull the mid down to the floor... it's almost always the kick sound they're looking for d...

You've likely got another SATA connection on the board next to the one that's there now... like he said above, one is rare... cables are cheap... follow the lead from the HD to the board, the other connection should be right next to it. Having the dual boot scenario described above will assign XP to...

Ideally the Firepod would have line-ins on 3-4 as well as 1-2... runnign through the front though with all four channels turned down to zero will do it for you, though... are you looking to run the VLA on just selective channels or the stereo mains? I'd say sans-patchbay, you're just going to be hoo...

1 vote for Sonar here... been using it since before it was Sonar (Cakewalk), someone said the track layers are great, they are... I don't ever get lost tryng to find anything on the screen, be it a knob, tranport button, whatever... Cubase seems like it goes about some stuff backwards and the first ...

ha this is funny stuff. My bandmate did something similar to what you tried in an old band he was in. They were recording a song live and he had a cheap radio shack lavalier mic in his mouth. They recorded the song and he would open and close his mouth periodically through out the song. I still hav...

It's one of my favorite things on Earth... It's a toy... I don't think it will change the world... It's a fad... RockBand for the 360 looks promising, though... it comes with 4 drum pads and a kick pedal, so theoretically, someone who masters that on the harder settings MIGHT be able to transfer tha...

Pretty much the only vocal mic I use now... at least it's my go-to... love it as a mono overhead... sounds real pretty on a clean electric guitar... yeah, I'd say I appreciate it.

To me the issue is that when I'm in front of the amp & it's blasting straight back at me I play differently than if I'm wearing heAdphones. Amps give you freedom to wander around; I like to wander. Headphones go all phasey as you move so you end up like a statue. Playing music is a physical act amo...

Maybe put the set all the way against a "back wall" (if there are two longer walls, put them on a short one), use one LDC (in omni maybe, if possible) close to the floor on the opposite wall (or close to it) to get that "distance" and some low from the kick, then use your other LDC as a overhead... ...

I wonder if they could be improved further by mastering to that format. I know nobody would want to, but considering the master is reduced to 16/44.1 and then that gets reduced to mp3, seems like a better mp3 might be possible by skipping the middle step. I just dumped a bunch of mixes to MP3 strai...
