I bought two 8 space racks from him (pine with a Cherry stain) they look real nice. I wouldn't say they are a work of art or anything, but I think they are a good deal for the price. I recieved mine promptly and he came through with everything he promised. They look a whole lot better than black or ...

Harvest- Neil Young The sound on "Alabama" is my all time fav Revolver- The Beatles Alive- KISS Yea I know what your all thinking, but when I hear that record, I'm 12 again. It's Viagra for my ears. Jet-Get Born I know it's derivative and all been done before, but I like it. Like it or not it has a ...

Years ago I had a 414B/ULS that needed a switch replaced and it had to go back to Nashville. I took it to the local shop and they couldn't get at it since it was all covered in epoxy goop. I'd be wary though...I've heard stories about them "fixing" 414's and tossing CK12 capsules for the newer ones...

Listening focus problem?
I was wondering if anybody else has this problem. When I'm listening to music for pleasure, I really can't just listen passivly. I'm constantly trying to figure out the guitar parts, vocal lines, piano. If it is music that I like(why listen to music you don't like for pleasure) I really have a tough...

AKG mic repair?
I have some AKG mics that need to be serviced (all over 20 tears old) A couple of 451's that make a popping noise and a 414 that sound a bit lifeless(decreased output) and really dull( not what I'm used to from a 414) I saw AKG has a place to ship them to in Nashville, but it looks like warranty wor...

I had seen the Dead plenty of times and eventually came to the conclusion that I really liked the Jerry Garcia Band a whole lot better, "How Sweet it is" is a really good live record. I think the JGBand had better musicianship and much better backing vocals. After seeing various members of the Dead ...

I've had a few listens to Jacksonville, it's isn't as strong as Cold Roses. He descibes it perfectly as a "punk" country record. I don't think his lyrics fit into his melodies on some of the songs. I'm glad Cold Roses is the CD stuck in my CD player and not Jacksonville. I hear he has yet another re...

Ryan Adams Cold Roses
This CD is stuck in my CD player in my car(won't eject no matter what I 've tried) I've been listening to it for almost 3 months. So to keep from going nuts I've been listening to it for the past week by only listening to one side(L&R) at a time. It almost sounds to me that the left side has most st...

Re: Pre for VO work
I really like the sound of the BBC stuff so I would recommend using what they have..Neve and Audix(ex-neve) broadcast desk preamps.. I have to agree on that, the BBC defines excellence in my book, especially in the documentary world. In my years of recording I don't believe I have ever been recorde...

Pre for VO work
I am shopping for a mic pre for my Post-production studio, we record VO only, and maybe a little foley work here and there. Mics are AKG 414, U87, and a SP C-1(which sounds great on alot of voices), right now I'm using a Presonus MP20 which is fine, I have no real complaints, but I want something sp...

Re: Home Playback System?
check out the bigger bro of the heresys, the cornwall. f*ing amazing speakers. the horned klipsch stuff is so efficient, they can be driven by tiny little amps (my cornwalls are taking only 8 (tube) watts, and they have 15" LF drivers). Yea those Heresey's my buddy has are the best speakers I have ...
