As far as Steve Albini: I'm liking the In Utero references. But, when I hear "The Eye Of Every Storm" by Neurosis I'm even more blown away. That record sounds perfect.

Another great sounding record off the top of my head is "Geneva" by Russian Circles.

"We've had a lot of drummers, they'll put up this ramshackle might-as-well-have-been-run-over-by-a-truck, piece-of-junk drum set and they?ll tell us how they want the drum set to sound. It's like pulling down your pants and saying, 'I want to be John Holmes.'"

Haha. Nice.

What the hell would the vagus nerve have to do with tinnitus? Human brain, you crazy.

That would be sweet as hell if it worked though.

You know, since this widespread pitch-corrected bullshit seems to have hit across every genre, I love when I hear little off-key spots in music now days.

As far as I'm concerned cds are making less and less sense - they are a bulky, over priced and are becoming increasingly more obsolete. However I do purchase as much vinyl and other band merch as I can. I'm not sure how cd's are bulky but vinyl isn't. Anyway, I still do like to buy cds to listen to...

Because it does not sound the same (admitted by the Avid people years ago, and still not fixed) That's still kind of a weird concept to...

I think mic placement would be a good place to start. Try moving off axis a bit.

Re: Why you should not leave your guitar in your car...

I suppose by now you've heard the following joke, but just in case: An accordian player has to stop at the bank, and then a store on the way to a gig. At the second stop, as at the first, he is very careful to lock the doors and turn on the car alarm, because his prized Victoria accordian is on the...
