Are you sure? I thought it was my yellow RCA a/v video cable... :D The point ...

"Ziggy Stardust" - David Bowie, '99 CD remaster. I love early 70s records cut at Trident by Ken Scott. Really present and "hi fi" but still with a lovely "round" character to the low end. Awesome.

I recorded the SPDIF output from my $39 DVD player into Pro Tools using a bog standard yellow RCA a/v video cable (the ones that come with the white/red RCA audio cables). I clocked to the SPDIF signal from the DVD player. The result was a complete and total null against the original wav file ripped...

The Metric Halo legacy boxes like the 2882 and ULN2 are stellar and terrific value if you can find them used. From what I can remember of the 888s, I'd have to say I definitely prefer the converters on the 2882 by some margin. Its working really well with PT9 for me too...

Dylan, "Nashville Skyline". The Calbi DSD SACD remaster is incredible. Sonically, probably my favourite Dylan record out of them all. The mids on this thing are truly special.

Don't apologize. Buy a used MBox or something and practice editing. Don't depend on anybody.

There is simply nothing that can beat an Adcom 535 in terms of value on the (used) market. Being greedy I want to upgrade to a 555 though...

When I was in my late teens playing in bands the very idea of making records "properly" or having them sound "hi-fidelity" was incomprehensible. We'd frequently present "Psychocandy" or "White Light / White Heat" to recording engineers as reference discs for how we wanted our stuff to sound like and...
