Free Mac VSTi Player (OS X/OS 9)

Post by leigh » Sun Feb 22, 2004 3:12 pm

Just a little release notice: the newest version of the Ugly VSTi Interface is now out (b0.2) for OS X. This is a free application that will load and play VSTi plug-ins.

The new OS X version has been updated to load both CFM and Mach-O VSTi files, as well as improving the MIDI input support. Still has only CoreAudio output, though.

There is also an (older) version available that runs in OS 9. This version allows several audio ouput options, including DirectConnect for streaming to Pro Tools.

Enjoy,
Leigh

Sweet - I snagged the tapper - I have been looking for something like that (my sampler has one, but this is a little more convenient) If there was only a way to get it to change the midi clock... Thanks - Tim

Hmm, which midi clock are you trying to control? AFAIK, there's not a way to use midi to send a device a new tempo for its midi clock, except via a sysex message if the device happens to support that.
