Edirol question

Post by helstab » Tue Jun 10, 2003 5:49 am

I dont have anything to mix down to. So I was thinking about picking up the Edirol A/D USB adapter that runs around 75$ for my laptop. I can just run the stereo out from my board to the computer and record stereo. Is this a good idea? Anyone else do this?

This review talks about a similar setup, so it seems to be possible. Since you'll just be mixing down, you won't have to worry about real-time monitoring or latency problems, so it should be suitable for your needs. Another option that you have, though, is Griffin Technology's iMic, which is only $30 and accomplishes the same thing. Although it has 1/8" input/output, it comes with a L/R adapter.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I can't get the iMic to work on a PC. It seems to function fine, if at low quality, on my Mac, but the PC ignores its existence.
