Wave editor for OSX?

Post by Milkmansound » Mon Mar 01, 2004 5:39 pm

I have been using Adobe Audition (aka Cool edit pro) on my windows machine to make samples for my Roland sp-808 sampler- however I now do almost everything on my Mac. I am looking for wave editor similar to cool edit (or the competant shareware goldwave) for the mac os. The wave editor in DP just isn't the same. There is a good chance I may not know how to use it properly - actually - that is most likely the case. Whatever the reason - I had a good thing going with CEP and would benefit from a similar interface. Any advice is appreciated - Tim

We use Peak LE at my school in OSX and i have had great results. Its been a fine replacement for SoundEdit 16 from 9.2, plus it has tons of cool sounding FX.

I'm a big fan of SoundStudio. It's cheap and does the basic editing tasks really well and very quickly. Peak is really kludgy in my opinion, but it has more features. If you want a solid no-frills editor get SoundStudio: http://www.felttip.com
