I don't have much experience of high end gear - but for the money i think they are pretty cool. It's a very portable way of getting some pro sounding audio into your computer.

My question to you is how many preamps have you heard?
What you need is something to amplify a high impedance, low level signal. The Mbox does that. Start making music. Bad art is simply bad art- regardless of what it sounds like...

on topic...
i've got the mbox. i think the focusrites are pretty good. they're clear, as in, they don't do anything to what you put in. i think if used properly, you can put what you hear acoustically into protools. the only thing i don't really like is their headroom. it's a little low, but you can just keep turning it down.. i think it's also a problem with protools. but hey. just turn it down.
dynamics. the way of the future.
that devil bastard protools

plenty, but not the focusrite's in the mbox. does this question really bother you?
and it's not MY bad art that would be created. it's for doing overdubbs on sessions that basics were done on other PT sysytems and was wondering the quality for the price.

they sound like cheap preamps.
however, i've used mine for recording drums, vox, flute on a recent session. they sound crisp, but a little thin on the high-end compared to a lot of better quality pre's.
for the money, its a good purchase.

Will the mbox XLR inputs accept line-level +4db signals without problems???
